Brandon Marshall: Should he stay or should he go now?
Following on from Orton being announced the Bronco’s starting QB is the ongoing melodrama concerning Brandon Marshall. If he stays in Denver, they’ll surely be some more trouble, if he goes… might it be double? And would anyone take the risk on him?
The central issue is that he thinks that he’s underpaid, and he surely is. But he’s also trouble with a capital Tr. A string of misdemeanours and questionings by police, he’s already been suspended by the NFL, hurt himself play-wrestling… the list seems to go on and on.
He’s also surely concerned about the ‘good’ news that Orton is now the starting QB.
On the field… he’s put up good numbers but dropped a fair few balls too. Opinions are certainly divided. At Yahoo! sports: Michael Silver (Kick him!) and MJD (Pay him!), and they both make good points.
Personally, I feel that the Broncos should be giving Orton every weapon they can and look to cut a deal. Yes, he’s a risk – mitigate as much as possible in the contract, but promise him some money if he’s going to a) behave and b) perform.
