San Francisco 49ers – Can they go from nowhere to the Super Bowl?
Those who have been following the predictions will know that I fancied the 49ers to do good things from before the start of the season. They seemed like a team that were quietly working hard. There were no reports of upset on the run up to pre-season and other than the Michael Crabtree saga, there has been little to worry us since.
Now, I am a gambling/trading man and before the start of the season you could get the 49ers at odds of 120 (119/1). In fact in one market someone has already made £7,000 trading on this bet before we are even half way through the season!
I see MJD over at the Yahoo NFL blog has them firmly in his play off picture. I have to say that I agree with him. I love the way they have been playing so far and I see no real reason for it to stop. Even with Frank Gore injured, it took some Favre magic to stop them last Sunday. This Sunday sees them face the Rams at home, so there should be little to worry them there.
So, can the 49ers make the Super Bowl? Let us know what you think.

I think the 49ers have a strong hold and their division and will most likely win it. Their week 1 win in Arizona will go a long way towards that. Right now they are taking advantage of playing in the weakest division in the NFC. Making it through the playoffs will be a different story. I don’t know if they can handle teams like the Vikings and Saints. There are still questions if they could go to New York and Green Bay and win in January. They have played stronger teams tough in the past but there is a difference between playing them tough and winning.
