I know, I know! We’re late, as there was a game last night. Our predictions for that game were typed up yesterday morning, so you’ll have to trust us when we say that we both picked the 49ers.

Here are the rest of our predictions for week 10 of the NFL 2009 season…

Thursday 12th November

Chicago Bears @ San Francisco 49ers
A – The Bears have been struggling, and were given a real spanking by Arizona last week. The 49ers though, are on a four game losing streak but three of those have been close games that were lost by inches. I fancy them here.

G – The 49ers are nothing if not exciting! They can’t lose this one, can they? I have faith and expect them to return to winning ways this week. Hey, didn’t I say that last week?

Sunday 15th November

Atlanta Falcons @ Carolina Panthers
A – What should be a great NFC South matchup might still be, but doesn’t have the top-of-the-table connotations we might have hoped for. At 3-5, this season isn’t going the way the Panthers will have hoped, but all is not necessarily lost. The Falcons are also stuttering a bit after a good start, but will have an eye on the postseason, so there is lots to play for in what’s already a charged match.
I think the Falcons will have enough, but it should be a close one.

G – This is a tough one to call. At first glance it is a an easy pick for the Falcons, but the Panthers are improving and have the home advantage. I’ll pick the Falcons, but not by any margin.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Miami Dolphins
A – The Bucs were great last week against the Packers, and I really enjoyed the end of the game. I can’t look past the Dolphins here though, so for once Graham and I will both be backing his team.

G – Tampa pulled last weeks game from nowhere! It might well have been the Wembley magic that helped them, but this week they face another team who have visited our capital. Expect a Miami win here.

Detroit Lions @ Minnesota Vikings
A – This looks a mismatch, if ever there was one. Vikings stroll in the dome.

G – I am with Andrew. Easy Vikings win.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ New York Jets
A – The Jags are an infuriating team! As bad as the Texans to call (who thankfully are off this week. The Jets have lost two straight at home, but think they’ll stop that run here.

G – The Jets will be too much for the Jags this week. Jets win for me.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Pittsburgh Steelers
A – I’m going with the Bengals here. I like all they’re doing, and they’ve already picked up some good wins at home and on the road.

G – This should be an interesting one to watch, but a Steelers win for me.

New Orleans Saints @ St. Louis Rams
A – Saints to cruise to a win.

G – The Rams are coming off of a win….oh hold on it was against the Lions. Who are they facing this week….oh the Saints. I’ll stop writing now.

Buffalo Bills @ Tennessee Titans
A – Like Graham, I think this could be close. But the Titans’ recent form and confidence that has bought will get them by the Bills.

G – I think the Bills could pull something off here, but I am not confident enough to back them. Titans win for me.

Denver Broncos @ Washington Redskins
A – I fancy the ‘Skins here, and it’s not just fan-blindness (probably). The Broncos are struggling to score and after a strong start are faltering slightly. They have a new coach, and I reckon he’ll struggle to make adjustments to get them winning again. If we can control their running game, I don’t fancy Orton being able to win the game in the air.

G – Quick! Get the fan blindness specs out. There is no way the Skins will hold the Broncos back.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Oakland Raiders
A – Talk about a must-see game! Chiefs to win a barnstormer!

G – This could either be very exciting, or very boring. The Raiders are used to losing at home and that’s good because I think they are heading for another loss this week.

Seattle Seahawks @ Arizona Cardinals
A – I’m very close to picking the ‘Hawks here, for reasons I can’t quite pin down. All sensible arguments are with the Cardinals though, but I do think it’ll be closer than is expected. Cards to win.

G – I am going with the Cards here.

Dallas Cowboys @ Green Bay Packers
A – I’m picking Green Bay. I just don’t fancy the Cowboys to get it done here, though they’ll get the expected 4-5 sacks that the Packers give up every week.

G – I am going to pick the Cowboys, but this is another where it really could go either way. I am sure that Green Bay will be hurting after last weeks loss, but I am not sure they can bounce back this week.

Philadelphia Eagles @ San Diego Chargers
A – The Chargers had a great game against the Giants last week, and the Eagles lost a close game to the Cowboys. You can never write off the chargers, but I think the Eagles will sneak by them.

G – The Eagles are looking good enough to win this. I am going with the home advantage for the Chargers though

New England Patriots @ Indianapolis Colts
A – Woah, great game! This is a real test of the Patriots who have failed to convince a lot of people yet this year. The Colts are undefeated going into this one, and I’m expecting them to still be so when it’s all finishes. Colts win, but a strong Pats’ showing.
But let’s face it, who will be surprised if the Pats get the win? And one thing’s for sure, if this was a post-season game I’l be backing the Patriots.

G – Another hard one to call and another game I can’t wait to watch. Both teams are on great form, but I have to go with the Colts just taking it.

Monday 16th November

Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns
A – The Ravens will surely bounce back here against a woeful Browns’ side.

G – Postal vote from Graham, who I had to text because he’d missed this one (though I could have guessed for him, I think): Ravens’ win.
