Kyle Orton and Chris Simms have been competing for the Starting quarterback job in Denver, but this week Orton was named the No.1 by new Broncos Head Coach Josh McDaniels.

At the end of the Broncos mini-camp Josh McDaniels said:

“There’s a lot of difficult aspects about what we ask our quarterback to do in our offence and Kyle has really grasped some of them more quickly than Chris did,”

“I just think it puts them in a little bit of a pressure situation where now one of them has it and has to keep it and the other one has to get it, they’re still going to compete with each other and I expect the competition to be the same that it’s been. They both have great attitudes and know that nothing is determined in June.”

Kyle Orton clocked up a number of good points for me on my fantasy football team last year, so I am quite a fan now. I can really see him being a good fit with the Broncos, this could be the year that he really makes his mark.
