Week 4, 2010: New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins
Sep 30th
3 weeks of NFL sure goes by fast. It only seems like last week when I was analysing the Baltimore Ravens picks from the 2010 draft. We’ve been blessed in that we’ve had some great games so far, and I’m sure there are many more to go, after all the season is still young. So this week I’ll be heading to the Sun Life Stadium where I believe the Patriots v the Dolphins will provide one hell of a contest.
Second Look 2010… AFC
Aug 21st
It’s been a while now since we at MacTalksNFL.co.uk took our First Looks at the AFC divisions. With pre-season getting going, let’s take a look and see if there’s anything to make us re-consider our positions.
Graham is on holiday, so this is down to Andrew and Craig. Let’s start with the AFC East…
Fantasy Football Hints and Tips #1 – Good Value Picks
Aug 5th
Well, it’s that time of the year again. Yes, Fantasy Football is almost upon us. In the first of a short series, I’m taking a look at good value picks. Later on I’ll look at people to avoid and for those in deep drafts, those who could be a good sleeper pick.
Well, obvious choices aside (AKA the Yahoo! Rankings Top 25) I see the following as good value picks you should be able to get after the first 2 rounds:

Anquan Boldin – The guy just loves getting yards and touchdowns. He moved to the Baltimore Ravens this year where no doubt he will be the main guy. After so many years in Arizona basically playing second fiddle to Larry Fitzgerald we finally get to see what he can do as a No. 1. Boldin and QB Joe Flacco have been practising together all off-season to get their chemistry right so expect big things from Anquan, and you can get this player as a 3rd round or 4th round pick.
Santana Moss – Santana has been the Redskins number 1 guy for going on four years. His numbers have always been solid, and yet he never really seems to stand out from a lot of other number 1 wide receivers. Andre Johnson, Randy Moss, Greg Jennings, Braylon Edwards, Brandon Marshall, Larry Fitzgerald… These are the names you hear banded around all the time. That’s great for us Fantasy players though. Santana will be available at round 5, possibly 6 and will provide you with a good load of points. He did well with Campbell throwing to him, now he has Donovan McNabb who will greatly improve the passing game.

Results, NFL Week 4 2009
Oct 6th
For Graham and me, it came down to last night as we were both 9-4 heading into it and I’d gone with the Vikings where he had the Packers. So I beat Graham this week, as did John from TheBettingAdvantage – both of us on 10-4.
Two upsets this weekend, with the Jaguars sending the Titans tumbling to 0-4 and with the Broncos surprising pretty much everyone to go 4-0 over a Cowboys team that are looking bad. As a Redskins fan, I approve, but even I was embarrassed for them watching Brandon Marshall outwit the entire secondary for a 51 yard score. Anyway… I’ve included it here for the chuckles it gives me (and as a Redskins fan, I have to take pleasure wherever I can this season!)
The Broncos though! Like most (outside of Denver) we haven’t been convinced. They have two tough games coming up (Patriots, then travelling to San Diego) but we’re keeping a wary eye on them now. The Titans are surprising us just as much, but in the other direction.
Thursday News Round-up
Sep 3rd
As we head towards the final pre-season games we should be approaching a stable point where injured players can be rested and final plans put into place. At MacTalksNFL we will be keeping an eye on the state of things running up to the regular season.
Favre to miss Final pre-season game
News today that Brett Favre will not be on the field to face the Dallas Cowboys on Friday. Vikings Head Coach Childress said – “I don’t see the upside” and I have to agree with him. Why open him up to potential injury?
Second Look… AFC West
Aug 15th
In our final part of the Second Look series, we take a peek in the AFC West and see what’s happening with the training camps well underway and pre-season getting going too.
In 2-3 weeks’ time, we’ll take a final look before setting our season predictions in stone (for future gloating and/or ridiculing).
Brandon Marshall: Should he stay or should he go now?
Jun 17th
Following on from Orton being announced the Bronco’s starting QB is the ongoing melodrama concerning Brandon Marshall. If he stays in Denver, they’ll surely be some more trouble, if he goes… might it be double? And would anyone take the risk on him?
