NFL 2010 NFC Championship
Jan 18th
Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears
Sunday 23rd, 8:00pm UK Time
When these teams both from the same division there is a lot of history and many stories to draw on. It also means that they know each other very well and this one will mean even more than you’d imagine a Conference Championship will.
These two teams have only met once before in the post-season and that was back in December 1941 (7 days after the attack on Pearl Harbour). But with 182 previous meetings between these teams, this is the NFL’s longest rivalry. Chicago currently leads the series 92–83–6, but Green Bay have had the edge in recent meetings.
Let’s take a quick look at the last two years: More >
Week 3, 2010: Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears
Sep 25th
This week I’ll be taking a look at the game between undefeated divisional rivals the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears. Generally we get a great game between these two sides, and if you’re staying up late in the UK to watch the Monday Night NFL, then you should be in for a good one. It’s a cliché, but this game is all about the quarterbacks.

Tennesse @ Pittsburgh, 10-13
This was a tight, tight game and the Titans can walk out of Heinz Field with their heads held high. Well, maybe apart from Rob Bironas. Chris Johnson lit it up a couple of times, as did the Ben/Santonio connection. But the real stars were both defensive units, certainly against the run.
Anyway, we both called this one correctly.

Jacksonville @ Indiana, 12-14
Well, we thought that this would be a close game and so it proved! Jones-Drew looked good as the focal point of the Jags attack, and the Colts did enough but will need to show us more if we’re going to believe in them this year.
Detroit @ New Orleans, 27-45
Drew Brees put on another passing clinic, completing 6 TD passes to 5 receivers. Matt Stafford wasn’t quite as impressive, but did get the Lions moving when the running game was shut down. On the plus side, the Lions did put up 27 points which is more than in any game last year. There were signs, but there’s still work to do.

Chicago Bears
Brian Urlacher is probably out for the season. The linebacker was placed on injured reserve after surgery on his dislocated wrist. After suffering the injury whilst tackling Ryan Grant, Urlacher played on for a while before the injury was checked out and its severity became clear.
Hunter Hillenmeyer will probably get the start at middle linebacker.
