NFL 2010 Week 6 Guest Predictions
Oct 13th
Hi, I’m Chris and I’m a Dallas Cowboys fan (don’t boo!). I first started watching American Football at about 6 years old when Channel Four here in the UK used to air an early morning highlight show at the weekends. At the time the Cowboys were just putting together the roster that would go on to pick up three Super Bowl rings in four seasons. I quickly got hooked watching Emmit Smith avoiding tacklers and moving through holes in defences created by Moose Johnston while being amazed at the almost telepathic connection Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin seemed to have. I still continue to follow the Cowboys despite numerous let-downs and a constant barrage of abuse I get from all my Dallas-hating friends!
I’m taking a look at all the NFL games this week and making my predictions on each one.
Game Predictions
Miami Dolphins @ Green Bay Packers
Usually, I’d pick the Packers straight away for this one but, with doubts surrounding Clay Matthews, Jermichael Finley and Aaron Rodgers, I’m not so sure. Losing Ryan Grant has made the Packers offense one-dimensional and having the two key men in the passing game banged up will further hurt their chances, while the defense looked lost against Washington after their sack-machine Matthews departed. Miami’s main concern will be the performance of their special teams after they were destroyed by the Patriots in Week Four, but a new special teams coach and a bye-week to work on their problems could have sorted them out. Clay Matthews playing will be the key to whether Green Bay win or lose this one.
Prediction: Green Bay

Week 4, 2010: New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins
Sep 30th
3 weeks of NFL sure goes by fast. It only seems like last week when I was analysing the Baltimore Ravens picks from the 2010 draft. We’ve been blessed in that we’ve had some great games so far, and I’m sure there are many more to go, after all the season is still young. So this week I’ll be heading to the Sun Life Stadium where I believe the Patriots v the Dolphins will provide one hell of a contest.
Week 3, 2010: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Sep 23rd
As with all of the NFL teams that have played at Wembley Stadium here in the UK, and certainly the ‘home’ teams, I feel a certain affinity for the Tampa Bay Buccanners. Though they were well and truly out-classed in the International Series last season, we still appreciated them coming and giving it a go.
This week they host the Pittsburgh Steelers, in a battle of two team that are currently undefeated in the 2010 season.
Week 2, 2010: Baltimore Ravens @ Cincinnatti Bengals
Sep 17th
Well, with week one of the 2010 NFL Season out of the way we can start to see how teams will be clicking and begin to make a better prediction of how their seasons will be turning out. Granted, it generally takes 2 or 3 games to get into the stride of things competitively so we can’t, for example, say the Colts will have a disaster of a year based on one loss. These next few weeks could be ‘make or break’ for a few teams, even if anything can happen in Football.
I’m looking forward to seeing how things pan out anyway, I’m sure you are too! Anyway, let’s take a look at one of the games coming up in week two. Since Andrew took his team last week I figured I’d take mine this week! The Baltimore Ravens go up against the Cincinatti Bengals on Sunday evening.

First Look 2010… AFC East
Jun 14th
We all know that predicting the divisions before the season has started can be, well, lets say – tricky! However, it is one of the things that we love doing and something that serves as a reference point for the changing fortunes of teams throughout the year. Oh, and more importantly means we can refer back to the awful predictions each other made as the year goes on!.
Hello. My name is Anthony and I’m a New England Patriots fan.

Hello. My name is Anthony and i’m a New England Patriots fan. Apologies about that – we probably would never have got on in the long term. Best we don’t become friends. I’ve been very kindly asked to write an entry about being a Pats fan, and my thoughts for the upcoming Wembley game in October. Very well…but if I hear one mention of Super Bowl XLII, i’m off!
How about some background to start you off. First really got into the NFL about 10 years ago after being introduced by a friend in the States. He’s a Pats fan as well, so he sort of coached me into the role of supporting them. Wasn’t the best season to do it, as we were awful – coming bottom of the AFC East with a record of 5-11. I wasn’t having the most fun to be honest. Being introduced into a sport where your new team lose more than they win is never great. However, the effect it had on me was one which had me supporting for them as the underdog. By the end of the season I was converted! My team was confirmed and I was going to do my bit to help them move up the table. Enter Tom Brady…
Second Look… AFC East
Jul 30th
Our ‘Second Look’ series moves into the AFC, starting in the AFC East. With training camps underway or starting any minute now, there’s still a lot to learn about all the teams at this point.
Refresh your memory with our First Look, and consider: Is there enough information to affect our predictions though?
Matt Cassel Signs Long Term Deal With Chiefs
Jul 16th
While Matt Cassel has not officially been named as starting quarterback in Kansas, the signing of a six year deal would seem to suggest that this is not in doubt.
First Look… AFC East
May 24th
The AFC East was a strange division last year, with things taking twist and turn through the course of the season and ending with the Dolphins on top, and the Patriots missing out. Are we up for a repeat of an unusual final positions and playoff contributions, or will things settle down to the more familiar feel they’ve had of late?
